Description of Ideal Candidate: HOW TO APPLY The prerequisite for applying is that the visiting researcher must have established contacts with a Finnish host university - please see the section Doctoral Admissions for further information. You are also advised to visit the Finnish universities' own websites for detailed information on the Doctoral level study and research options the universities offer. If a Finnish university is willing to host you, then the Finnish university department wishing to host you can apply for the EDUFI Fellowship on your behalf. That is, only the hosting Finnish university can act as an 'applicant' in the EDUFI Fellowship programme. Additionally, the following attachments are required for a EDUFI Fellowship application: 1.A motivation letter from the applicant (the hosting university), max 1 page 2.Complete CV of the scholarship candidate 3.Research plan (3-5 pages) Two printed and signed copies of the application with required attachments should be submitted to the following address: Finnish National Agency for Education (EDUFI), PO Box 380, 00531 Helsinki. Please mark the envelope with “EDUFI Fellowships”. WHEN TO APPLY There are no annual application deadlines in the EDUFI Fellowship programme. Applications may be considered at all times. However, applications should be submitted at least 5 months before the intended scholarship period. Decisions will be made within approximately 3 months after receipt of application. Dates: Deadline: The application period is open for one or more cycles a year Cost/funding for participants: 1.Partially Funded 2.The scholarship period may vary from 3 to 12 months. The monthly allowance is 1500 euros. 3.The scholarship is intended to cover living expenses in Finland for a single person. 4.No additional allowance for housing is paid. 5.Expenses due to international travel to and from Finland are not covered by the programme. NB: the EDUFI Fellowship is a start-up grant rather than a full degree scholarship, so if you for example receive an EDUFI Fellowship for 12 months, after that period you should seek other sources of funding for the remaining period of your studies/research.
Description of Ideal Candidate: Target groups The G.B.S. summer program hosted 180 participants from more than 80 nations in the previous courses! The backgrounds from the participants – coming from all around the world for this special training course in sustainable architecture and building science – are among others: 1.Engineers: building, process, mechanical, energy, civil, electrical, … 2.Architects, urban planners, constructors … 3.Economists, marketers, project developers. We also invite people with study fields like resource planning, ecology, landscape planning to apply for the summer program. Our focus lies on academics as well as on professionals. If you are a professional who can only participate for a shorter period of time please contact us and ask for special conditions. Requirements to be eligible for a scholarship: 1.Master level and field of study 2.Average of grades and study progress 3.Experiences in fields of architecture, planning and other relevant topics (basic knowledge in building physics, etc. is needed) 4.Qualification, motivation letter, aptitude 5.Very good English language skills. Dates: Deadline: June 30, 2017 Program Starts: July 23, 2017 Program Ends: August 14, 2017 Cost/funding for participants: Partially Funded Not Funded Costs & Scholarships Program Fee & Housing Students: EUR 2.000,– (incl.VAT) Professionals: EUR 2.490,– (incl.VAT) Energy efficient housing: Students will have the possibility to live in one of Vienna’s newest enegy-efficient dormitories for the whole duration of the Summer School (July 22 – 13, August 2017) plus an additional week before or after the school – all without added cost. Personal and travel expenses as well as insurance are not covered. Student Scholarship Program We cooperate with several companies and organizations to provide student grants for outstanding applicants in need of financial aid.
